Duralay Duratex Wood & Laminate Sponge Rubber Underlay Description

Duralay Duratex is a 15 square metre classic heavy-duty flat sponge-rubber underlay for use under laminate, solid timber and engineered wood floors. This underlay is perfect for use on suspended wood-based floors where moisture damage is not an issue.

However this product does not come fitted with a Vapourstop barrier and so is not suitable for use over concrete or ground floor installations without polythene sheeting or vapour barriers. You must also tape the joins to ensure full moisture protection.

The benefit of this is that Duratex offers flexibility. If your sub-floor already includes a moisture barrier then Duratex is a more cost-effective solution than underlays which include a vapour barrier. Duratex is suitable for contract and domestic installations.

Duratex is identical to Multitex, but comes in 15m2 rolls instead of 10m2 rolls.

Suitability:
Designed for laminate and solid timber floors. Also complements under-floor heating systems, allowing heat to easily pass through.
Application:
Lay polyester backing side down, rubber side up. Cut to room shape. Tape cut pieces together using Underlay Tape or Vapour Tape.
