Duralay Timbermate Excel DIY Wood & Laminate Sponge Rubber Underlay Description

Timbermate Excel DIY noise reducing underlay for use under wood or laminate floors, supplied in easier to handle 10m2 rolls. This 3.60mm textured flat, Duralay sponge rubber underlay reduces noise by up to 30% compared to polyethylene cell foam. The Vapourstop barrier protects against moisture and is 10 times more effective than polythene sheeting. Suitable for underfloor heating, be sure that during installation yremember that the seams must be taped up to ensure complete moisture protection.

The low tog rating of Timbermate Excel DIY, 0.55 tog means it is suitable for use with underfloor heating systems as it will still allow the heat to pass through unimpeded. This will maximise the effect of your heating system.

Whilst being quite durable for a laminate underlay, the incredibly high-density of this flat-sponge underlay is what gives it its superb acoustic performance. Excel DIY is similar to other laminate and wood flooring underlay in that it can be used to mask minor imperfections in the sub floor. In basement and cellar conversions and renovations, Timbermate Excel DIY laminate and wood flooring underlay would be an ideal underlay to use as it removes the need for the sub floor to be completely levelled.

Over smaller areas, Timbermate Excel DIY laminate underlay can also be used in contract applications due to its decent work of compression. Timbermate Excel DIY is not suitable however, for use on top of wood block or parquet sub floors.

  Designed for laminate and solid timber floors. Also complements under-floor heating systems, allowing heat to easily pass through.
• Application:

  Lay silver Vapourstop membrane side down, rubber side up. Cut to room shape. Tape cut pieces together using Vapour Tape or Vapourstop sealing strips.
