Everything we sell is A grade. We do not, and never will, sell anything less than A grade products. This applies to everything from our premium comfort underlays to our specialist underlays. All of our underlay is manufactured in the UK.
What is a PU Foam Underlay?
PU Foam underlays are made from polyurethane foam pieces, usually a mixture of recycled furniture foam and blocks of offcuts of furniture foam. It is formed into sheets and backing is applied to make the final underlay. It is very comfortable, quite durable, is very lightweight, and extremely warm.
What is a Sponge Rubber Underlay?
Sponge rubber underlay is made from natural sponge, and is incredibly springy and comfortable. It is, in fact, the most comfortable underlay we3 sell. It is also exceptional with regard to noise reduction.
What is the difference between Colours Red and Dreamwalk?
Dreamwalk underlay is a better insulator than Colours Red underlay and so is slightly warmer, and it is slightly more durable. However, Colours Red is the most comfortable underlay we sell, and is better than Dreamwalk at noise suppression.
On the website both Colours Red and Dreamwalk score 6 stars for comfort, but the actual user ‘feel’ when walking on Colours Red is simply exceptional. This difference in comfort is hard to measure and describe, but when you walk on the two you can tell the difference in under-foot feel – with Colours Red there is a real ‘aaah’ moment, especially in bare feet.
How do you calculate the comfort and durability ratings?
These are based on the measurement of things like the Work of Compression, Compression after Dynamic Loading and Retention of Work of Compression, and these measurements are done to the appropriate British Standards. This makes our comfort and durability star ratings very good objective guides to real comfort and durability. In other words, we don’t just make them up!
